This system differs from many traditional 4WDs in so far as it offers greater fuel economy, similar to that of a front-wheel-drive vehicle, when driving at speeds using low-revs. It does, however still offer the full four-wheel-drive grip levels whenever this is required. The technology involves sophisticated differentials and clutches, among other components, to provide mechanical advantages.
